About Year 2
PE kits need to be in school everyday. The children will need shorts and t-shirts with daps or trainers. On Mondays the children do games outside and will need tracksuit bottoms and a warm top, such as a sweatshirt or fleece. Please ensure all PE items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Homework will be given out on Thursday and needs to be handed in by the following Tuesday. If you have any concerns, please feel free to talk to your child’s class teacher. Homework will consist of a range of activities, including Literacy, Numeracy, spellings and some topic work.
We expect the children to know their 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
We will be going on a trip to the SS Great Britain in Term 5 and a castle in Term 6
We would expect children to read at home to an adult at least 3 times a week. They are required to bring their reading book and yellow reading record into school every day. Please sign the reading record every time your child reads.
In Year 2 we have high expectations of the children’s learning and behaviour. We believe children should be taught to become independent and have a positive attitude towards their learning. We want your child to enjoy their education and appreciate individual strengths and creativity.
