Special Days

Red Rose Day 2019

On Red Nose Day we dressed up in red, wore our noses and sold the delicious cakes which the parents of year 2 and 5 kindly made for us. We raised an amazing £818.

Thank you everyone for your support.

TEETH DAY – January 2019

At the beginning of term we held a whole school ‘Teeth Day’. The aim of the day was to emphasise the importance of dental hygiene i.e. eating healthily and looking after your teeth. We talked about why it is so important to brush your teeth and visit the dentist.  Several of classes practised cleaning their teeth for two minutes and realised it was a lot than they thought! Lots of other fun activities happened too including estimating the amount of sugar in different types of food.

Year 1 were shocked to discover how much sugar there is in ketchup and Ribena!

There were also teeth quizzes, instructions written about how to brush your teeth, bar charts showing the sugar in foods, ‘How to Keep your teeth healthy’ posters, egg shell experiments to see what liquids damage enamel the most and teeth made out of playdough!

It was a great day and I think we all came away realising how important it is to think about what we eat and drink and the importance of keeping our teeth and gums healthy.

WIG WEDNESDAY 17.05.17

We all got ‘Wiggy with it!’ on 17th May to raise money for CLIC. Not only did we look great but we raised a fantastic £581 for the charity. Thank you to everyone for wearing wigs and hats and for supporting our cake sale.

Red Nose Day 24.03.17

Wow! We have raised a whopping £721. Thank you everyone for dressing in red, buying noses and supporting year 6 with the cake sale.

Evie and Lily Marsh have raised £17.85 for Red Nose Day by selling sweets to their family. Thank you and well done for being so enterprising.

World book day 03.03.16

The whole school took part in celebrating world book day. From the children and teachers to the office staff and Teaching assistants.

There was a wide range of characters wondering around school. We had a great day with lots of super heroes and princesses in Key stage one and a strong Harry Potter theme in key stage 2.

Miss Wilmer didn’t let us down and came dressed as an alien from the story ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ and Miss Burrows made a fantastic Gangster Granny.

Children in Need 2015

We supported Children in Need 2015 by coming to school in fancy dress costumes. Year one sold their delicious cakes in the hall during morning play. We raised £836.80!! Thank you to everyone who supported this fun event.
