Year Five And Six Cricket  Winners!

Last Friday, year five and six competed in a cricket tournament at Brislington against three different schools and we won both the girls and boys tournaments.

We (the boys) didn’t get to play our first game as Woodlands were late, but it counted as a win anyway. We won the next match against West Town Lane and it was pretty close; we only won by fourteen runs. They made some good catches but we did aswell. Our next match was the easiest to win as we could hit the ball really far and get lots of runs. We also got a lot of wickets by bowling them out. When they did get a good hit, we usually caught them out. At the end of the match, we won by 45 runs.

In the end, we won the whole tournament and we were awarded with medals and a trophy.

The girls also enjoyed the glory but unlike the boys they got to play all three of their matches and got an astonishing 737 runs in total across the afternoon. They also made a lot of catches and all bowled over-arm superbly well which impressed the coaches there. In between matches, we all enjoyed refreshments and the tournament was organised really well.

Year 5/6 Archery Competition

The Y5/6 Archery team took part in a competition against 12 local schools which involved shooting at a target, shooting for distance and shooting for accuracy. They did a fantastic job and finished in 2nd place with an amazing 191 points, just 10 points away from Mangotsfield who finished 1st. The Y5/6 team will now join the Y3/4 team at the Archery County Finals on the 27th April. Good luck to both teams!
