In response to possible schools closure and the need for home learning we have gathered here a selection of information and links to support learning across all the key stages.
Below is a link to an online book that has been designed to explain the Coronavirus to children. It is something that you need to look at and make your own decision about whether to share with your child(ren). We will not be sharing this in school as we feel it is up to parents to decide if they want to share.
It is very child friendly in format and as is available in a number languages. Google Chrome will convert into any other language not included. It has been very helpfully shared by one of our parents who is a doctor.
These are our Curriculum themes for each year group. Please click the picture for a larger, printable version.

Amazon Audible – Free access for children
For as long as schools are closed, we’re open. Starting today, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids. All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.
Our guide will give you insights into how educators around the world are approaching school closures.
Thousands of teachers worldwide are currently sharing snippets of their experiences via social media or their blogs. We’ve compiled, curated, and built on some common themes and ideas to create this extensive guide
To run alongside the work you are sending home for the children, a few of our presenters here at Instilling Inspiration have teamed up (from home of course) to make a mini daily video with an activity related to one of our school workshop brands each day.
The idea is that, even though we can’t visit the children at school, we can still instil some inspiration with the children at their homes. We want to contribute at helping keep all of the young ones motivated with some nice simple activities they can do with their family throughout this period!
We are aiming to put up a video for one of our brands each day, starting this afternoon as part of an “Inspire at Home” series (a little more exciting than the ‘stay at home’ we keep hearing on the news!). The videos related to these brands:
- Fit4Kids (fit4kids.co.uk) – Health and Fitness: Theme: “Doing your Fit”
- Professor Bubbleworks (professorbubbleworks.co.uk) – Science and STEM: Theme “Science Fun in the home”
- Mindful Minis (mindful-minis.co.uk) – Mindfulness and Mental Health – “Mindful Minutes at Home”
- BrainBusters (brainbusters.co.uk) – Maths Fun and Puzzles – “Riddle of the Day”
We have been wiping the dust off our YouTube channel today and will be kickstarting this afternoon with our first video related to Fit4Kids – simply search “Instilling Inspiration” on YouTube, or click here: Instilling Inspiration – YouTube Channel
To help ensure as many teachers, parents (and most importantly children!) have a chance to see the videos and get involved with the activities; please can you share this with parents, colleagues, and friends and let them know to keep an eye on our channel each school day for a different themed mini activity.
We have also created an Inspire-at-Home Just Giving Page and will add a link to it on each video description – we feel this would be a great opportunity to raise money for The Children’s Society charity, which helps vulnerable young people and makes sure no child feels alone through their various different outreach programs they organise with their volunteers.
It would be fantastic to get as many children inspired during this period! We hope you all enjoy our videos.
CUBAtone-Nitos FREE Fitness & Dance Livestream Classes for KIDS & their families
My name is Alain Hernandez. I am a fully qualified fitness instructor and CRB checked. I live in Bristol. During non-Corona Virus times, I deliver my own dance fitness program CUBAtone in regular weekly classes, in Bristol, London, Cardiff and other locations around the south west. I also hold workshops all around the UK at many fitness and dance events, both here and abroad.
During this difficult period of self isolation / lockdown, I have shifted to delivering my adult classes on-line in live stream 1 hour sessions. People anywhere log in and can access the classes on-line from their own homes. This has been so successful over the last few weeks that I have decided to extend my program. As a result, I have developed CUBAtone-nitos – dance/ fitness classes for children and their families.
What makes my classes unique is that they are aimed at ALL the family and not just the children. This makes its appeal even greater. Here are just some of the benefits that participating in my classes aim to provide:-
Provide an opportunity for family members to partake in a joint activity together.
Encourage children to get more exercise whilst they are having to stay at home.
Offer an alternative to playing computer games and ‘time-out’ from electronic screens!
Improve and maintain physical health, assist with weight management, gain muscle strength and raise fitness levels.
Boost mental health, energy levels and generally facilitate improvements in mood.
I initially offered these classes just to the PE Co-ordinator in my son’s school in Bristol. However, these were so well received, greeted with such enthusiasm and the response has been so positive, that I have decided to open this up further.
The classes I am offering are FREE. There is NO FEE to anyone wishing to attend and NO CHARGE to yourselves or your school.
I am simply contacting you to inform you about CUBAtone-nitos , tell you what I am offering and to kindly ask that you spread the word to the pupils and parents in your school to let them know that it’s there – it’s free and how to access it – should they be interested and want to join in. There is no commitment, hidden agenda or master plan. I am a fitness instructor in self isolation with my son who is in the high risk category due to underlying health issues. We can’t get out even to exercise, cycle or walk. We want to stay fit and well and active and spend time together productively – and we would like to offer that opportunity to others whilst we all have to stay safe and stay home.
I will attach the link to the CUBAtone-nitos live-stream class below. Should you, your parents or anyone else wish to find out a bit more about me, my classes and what I do in my normal life – please have a look at my website www.cubatone.co.uk .
